Stock sync with Shopify
TaroStack keeps the count, and Shopify's count matches it within a minute.
What it does
Stock sync keeps Shopify's count matched to TaroStack's count. When stock moves in TaroStack, TaroStack updates Shopify's count. When Shopify fulfills or restocks an order, TaroStack moves the stock.
When to use it
Sync runs by itself once a variant is matched. Use this tutorial to see sync working, or to learn which system decides the count.
Before you start
Match the item to a variant with a SKU and tracked stock, at a matched location.
Steps
- In Shopify, note the variant's count at the location.
- In TaroStack, open Stock and press Adjust stock.
- Choose the location, then Remove stock, the item, a quantity of 1 and a reason.
- Press Remove stock at the bottom of the sheet.
- Wait up to a minute, then reload the variant's page in Shopify.
What you should see
Shopify's count is one lower. A delivery received in TaroStack and a finished batch raise Shopify's count the same way.

Good to know
TaroStack's count decides. A count changed by hand in Shopify doesn't overwrite TaroStack's count. TaroStack lists the difference and asks you what to do, as Stock differences explains.
TaroStack tells Shopify only what TaroStack can send. Stock on hold and a lot past its date come off Shopify's count. A lot's stock comes off after the lot's last day, at the next stock change or the daily check.
An order placed in Shopify lowers Shopify's available count immediately. TaroStack's stock changes when the order is fulfilled.
