Purchasing and receiving with TaroCore
Ask TaroCore to order what's low, then check the draft it makes.
What it does
Asked to "order what's low", TaroCore works out what's below its reorder point and drafts one purchase order per supplier. Nothing is ordered until you've checked it.
When to use it
Use it when you do your weekly buying, or when you want to see what a big week would need.
Before you start
Add a supplier that sells the item, and set the item's reorder point above what's on hand. A new business has neither, so TaroCore correctly finds nothing to order.
Steps
- Open TaroCore, then type "what's low". The item is listed.
- Type "order what's low".
- Press Check the draft, and read the sheet.
- Press Make the draft.
- Open Purchasing to see the draft.
- When the delivery comes, receive it as usual, or say "receive" in TaroCore and check the form.
What you should see
The answer says how many items are below their reorder points and what it plans. A message says 1 draft made, and Purchasing lists it as a draft.
- "Order what's low"
- Check the draft
- Make the draft
- You send the order
Good to know
TaroCore never sends an order to a supplier.
An item with no supplier can't be drafted, and TaroCore says so.
With nothing low, the answer is "Nothing is running low right now, and your plan doesn't need anything more this week. There's nothing to order."
