Smart Import and reading documents

Give TaroCore a photo, PDF or spreadsheet, and check what it read before anything is saved.

What it does

SMART IMPORT reads a supplier's invoice, a customer's order, a count sheet, a price list or a recipe card. You get its lines as a form to check, with anything it wasn't sure of marked.

When to use it

Use it when the information is on paper or in a file and you'd otherwise type it in.

Before you start

Have a photo, PDF or spreadsheet ready. You can choose up to ten pages at once.

Steps

  1. Open TaroCore, then press SMART IMPORT.
  2. Add your photo, PDF or spreadsheet.
  3. Read each card. It shows what was printed and anything to check.
  4. Change any field, add a row or remove one. The checks run as you type.
  5. Press the import button to save.

What you should see

Each line is matched to your items by your SKUs, your suppliers' codes and the names. A product you've never had is offered as a new item. After you import, the records appear on their own pages.

Good to know

Nothing is saved until you import.

Tax, shipping and totals on an invoice aren't lines. They're left out, and the preview says so.
